Extended Data Fig. 5 — 3D variability analysis of the symmetry expanded apo HKU1-A particles indicated that there are no detectable open S1^B domains present in the data. In contrast, this method could discriminate between open and closed S1^B domains in the holo 1-up data set, used as control to show the validity of this approach. The region which was masked during the analysis is circled.
