Complementation of JS964 by a single-copy plasmid. pSEB12(minCDE) and derivatives of this plasmid containing minC mutations were transformed into JS964. Single colonies were inoculated into liquid cultures and grown at 37°C until the mid-log phase. Cell morphology was examined by phase-contrast microscopy, and pictures were taken with a MagnaFire charge-coupled device camera.
