There are two types of mercury. Methyl mercury builds up in the body and is toxic. Ethyl mercury—the type within vaccines—is excreted rapidly from the body. In 2006, an expert panel assembled by the World Health Organization concluded that there was “no evidence of toxicity in infants, children or adults exposed to [mercury] in vaccines”.
