Myelin-reactive antibodies such as those against MOG trigger oligodendrocyte stress. This subsequently results in the release of exosomes containing the stress protein αB-crystallin. Antibodies that bind to the oligodendroglial transmembrane protein MOG trigger membrane perturbations and intracellular changes including stress.
