2D Histograms investigating the relation of functional-connectivity condition and instantaneous phase: A For each trial in the high condition, the instantaneous phase at the very end of the window of real-time stPLV estimates of the C3- and C4-Hjorth signal respectively was retrieved (logged during experiment, n=13500), and the combinations of (binned) phases were then counted. B The same was done for the low condition trials (n=13500). C The difference of counts in each bin is given. There is no clear pattern emerging, e.g. there is no clear diagonal increase of depletion of certain phase-pairs in high vs. low condition. There is a slight diagonal pattern, but it is weak. Statistical analysis does not indicate an interaction or redundancy of phase and condition either (see main text). The colormaps differ between A and B versus C, to highlight the different ranges of values in the 2D-histograms.
