Hepatocytes (106 cells/ml) were incubated in Krebs–Henseleit buffer (pH 7.4) at 37◦C for 1 hr following the addition of As3+ at EC50, 2hr. Lipid peroxidation level was determined as the difference in malondialdehyde formation between the control and As3+-treated cells (7). Values are expressed as mean±SD of three separate experiments (n=3).a Significant difference in comparison with the control hepatocytes (p<0.05).b Significant difference in comparison with the As3+ treated hepatocytes (p<0.05).
