It is a modeller assumption that the population-specific estimate for SCI catheter users relates to the use of hydrophilic-coated catheters as opposed to uncoated (we cannot access the full papers referenced by Bermingham et al to confirm/deny this assumption). Therefore, this value is applied as a decrement for uncoated catheters, rather than as an additional benefit for hydrophilic-coated catheters.
