GPC rescued phosphate starvation phenotypes. (A) Cells were grown overnight in YNB containing 200 µM P_i. Cells were then reinoculated into phosphate-free YNB containing either 200 µM P_i or 200 µM GPC at an A₆₀₀ of 0.1, monitored every 30 minutes. (B) Grown as in panel A with the addition of 1 M NaCl to induce osmotic stress. (C) Grown as in panel A with the addition of 20 µg/mL calcofluor white to induce cell wall stress.
