A histologic examination revealed tissue fragments composed of small round to spindle-shaped cells in the background of a blood clot. Tumor cells had atypical nuclei showing dense chromatin and pale-to-eosinophilic cytoplasm (Hematoxylin and Eosin staining; a). Immunohistochemically, the tumor was focally positive for AE1/3 (b) and positive for desmin (c), myogenin (d), and CD56 (e). The Ki-67 index was 80% (f).
