At the STI screening and enrollment visit (V1), BV was diagnosed using Amsel’s criteria by a score of ≥3 or ≥2 when symptomatic. Patients diagnosed with BV were immediately provided a 7-day course of oral metronidazole, apart from two patients that received metronidazole gel.
