CTL activity in immunized mice. Splenocytes from immunized and mock-immunized mice described in Fig. 5 were prepared as described in Materials and Methods. CD4⁺ T cells were removed by incubating the splenocytes with anti-CD4⁺ (GK1.5) MAb plus Low-Tox-M rabbit complement for 30 min at 37°C. ⁵¹Cr release assays were performed with splenocytes as effector cells and HSV-1-infected CL7 cells as target cells (as described in Materials and Methods). Each point represents mean ± the SEM for three experiments. Spontaneous release was <11% of total release.
