Cytokine production by splenocytes of immunized mice. BALB/c mice were immunized three times as described in Materials and Methods. Three weeks after the third immunization, mice were euthanized, and spleens were harvested. Single cell suspensions of splenocytes were prepared and stimulated in vitro for 72 h with UV-inactivated McKrae. The concentrations of IL-2, IL-3, IFN-γ, and TNF-α in the supernatant were measured by ELISA. Each point represents the mean titer from four experiments.
