Immunoblot analysis of separately expressed malK fragments. Cells of host strain ES25 harboring the described plasmids were grown in the presence of IPTG (except pSW7; for details, see Materials and Methods). At early stationary phase, the cells were harvested and subjected to SDS-PAGE. Subsequently, the proteins were transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with a MalK-specific polyclonal antiserum. The blot was developed with the enhanced chemiluminescence kit from Amersham.
