Kinetics of ⁸⁶Rb transport in disruptant and wild-type strains. The cells (50 mg [wet weight]) were preincubated for 2 min in 2 mM MES-TEA (pH 6)–50 mM glucose. After preincubation, variable concentrations of ⁸⁶Rb were added, to measure its transport with an incubation time of 2 min, as described in Materials and Methods. The most probable lines and K_m and V_max values were obtained by the nonlinear regression method.
