Child conduct problems were related to lower socioemotional word production in the social but not the nonsocial context. Children with higher conduct problems expressed fewer socioemotional words only in the social context (b =  − .30, t =  − 2.72, p = .009) but not the nonsocial context (b = .09, t = 0.51, p = .61).
