The sequences were retrieved from UniProt (entry IDs), and for six CAs the subcellular locations were predicted using DeepTMHMM-tool (https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2022.04.08.487609v1.abstract) and TargetP 2.0 (https://services.healthtech.dtu.dk/service.php?TargetP-2.0). Subcellular location for γ-CAs are according to Gawryluk, Gray28 and Gawryluk, Chisholm, Pinto, Gray.29
