Alprazolam reduces stride time variability while walking in an anxiety-inducing virtual environment. No significant main effect of medication was observed, but there was a significant main effect of condition (p < 0.001) and condition × medication interaction (p=0.02). Paired samples t-test between HA-plank conditions showed significant reduction of stride time variability on alprazolam compared to placebo (t = −2.72, p=0.02).
