For simplification of the drawing, not all the ACMV isolates have been shown as they are very similar. Similarly, the EACMV-UGs associated with the CMD pandemic now present in several central African countries have not been depicted as they are of very recent introduction (less than 10 years). The solid blue arrows represent the possible "route" of evolution of the EACMCV viruses, and the green arrows represent the possible "route" of evolution of the EACMV viruses.
