Further characterization of the specificity of 1-5C performed with variants of MPB70 peptide 11. Substitutions S→A, E→Q, and N→D singly and in combinations of two and three were made on basis of the MPB83 sequence. Truncated peptides were constructed for precise mapping of the epitope.
