Table 3.

Summary of rates and proportions of major and minor metabolic characteristics of the overall cohort. The prevalence of the major characteristics is calculated for the overall cohort and the prevalence of the minor characteristics for the remaining cohort after application of the major characteristics. Within the two cohorts of major or minor criteria, an individual can fulfill more than one criterion but may only be classified once. Abbreviations: HF hyperferritinemia, FLI fatty liver index, BMI body mass index, T2DM type 2 diabetes mellitus, HOMA homeostasis model assessment, HDL high-density lipoprotein. The p-value indicates significant difference between the non-HF and the HF group at p < 0.05.
