Schematic representation of experimental treatments. Male and female 5-HT2A+/+ (WT) and 5-HT2A−/− (KO) mice were subjected to an open-field test (OFT). The first 15 min corresponds to habituation. Then, they were administered a single intraperitoneal injection of the corresponding treatment: vehicle (saline solution), noribogaine 10 mg/kg, or 40 mg/kg. Mice were recorded for 30 min post-injection. Tissue samples for qPCR were taken immediately after the experiment.
