Comparison of colony count and broth microdilution assays. The broth microdilution assays were performed with 2 × 10³ CFU/ml in an RPMI 1640-based medium. The colony count assays used two different C. albicans concentrations (10⁴ and 10⁵ CFU/ml) and were performed in the high-salt medium (without agarose) that was used in radial diffusion assays. Three different incubation times (5, 60, and 180 min) were used in the colony count assays.
