Figure 4

T cell infiltration is independent from clinical parameters. (A) Heatmap displaying the mean cell density Z-score per T cell phenotype as identified with multispectral immunofluorescence in the entire cohort (n=76). The samples are clustered in an unsupervized manner and thereby marked as T cell high (n=34) or T cell low (n=42). The samples are annotated for their respective anatomical location and whether they had received radiotherapy prior. (B) Images displaying different T cell infiltration patterns as generated by multispectral immunofluorescence. The original and magnified images show T cell-related markers (CD3=red, CD8=blue, FOXP3=cyan) and a tumor marker (keratin=yellow) in two chordomas, each annotated for their respective T cell group (T cell high=red rectangles; T cell low=blue rectangles). (C) Kaplan-Meier curves of the disease-specific survival comparing the T cell high and T cell low groups of the entire cohort. Two-sided log-rank tests were performed for the Kaplan-Meier estimates. Tregs, regulatory T cells.
