(A) Detached barley leaves were inoculated with droplets of conidial suspensions (3.105 conidia/mL) from M. oryzae wild-type isolate P1.2, insertion mutant M763, a Δbip1 deletion mutant and Δbip1 complemented with a wild-type copy of BIP1 (Δbip1::BIP1). Pictures were taken 6 days after inoculation (dai). (B) Four-week-old rice plants were spray-inoculated with conidial suspensions from isolates P1.2, M763 Δbip1 or Δbip1::BIP1 (5.104 conidia/mL) and pictures were taken 7 dai.
