Intratesticular block. The needle is inserted into the centre of the testis and 0.1-0.25 ml of local anaesthetic is injected per testicle (a; b [needle A]). During injection the testis will become firm. The intratesticular injection can be combined with subcutaneous incisional infiltration, which is applied bilaterally at the scrotum (b [needle B]).
