Figure 15.

Figure 15 is a screenshot of Toxicological studies examining exposure to P F A S by study design, species, and health system webpage is displayed. On the left, a heatmap plotting cancer, cardiovascular, developmental, endocrine, gastrointestinal, hematologic, hepatic, immune, metabolic, nervous, renal, reproductive, respiratory, systemic or while body, not reported, not reported (y-axis) across acute, short-term, subchronic, chronic, developmental, P 0, developmental F 1, developmental F 2, reproductive, not reported, and grand total (x-axis). Note: column totals, row totals, and grand totals indicate total numbers of distinct references. Some E C H A studies sources may be counted as multiple references in these counts, based on how data were reported in the dossier. Below, a tabular representation titled Study details has seven columns, namely, Health system, chemical name, study design, route, species, sex, and short citation. On the right, details regarding references, parent P F A S project, route of administration, chemicals evaluated-by search, chemicals evaluated-by name, chemical evaluated-by C A S R N, and chemicals evaluated by-D T X S I D.

Survey of included mammalian bioassay studies included in the comprehensive PFAS dashboard. This is a thumbnail image of the interactive visual (https://hawc.epa.gov/summary/visual/assessment/100500256/Comprehensive-PFAS-Dashboard/) accessed on 3 November 2023 that is filterable by parent project, health system, study design, PFAS name, CASRN, and DTXSID.60 The numbers in the heat map inset indicate the distinct number of studies that investigated a health system within a particular study design. If a study evaluated multiple health outcomes or presented several experiments, it is shown here multiple times, though totals reflect distinct numbers of studies. The study design panel includes information on animal model, exposure duration, route of administration, and dose level(s) tested. Note: CASRN, Chemical Abstracts Service registry number; DTXSID, DSSTox substance identifier; ECHA, European Chemicals Agency; IRIS, Integrated Risk Information System; ORD, US EPA Office of Research and Development; PAFT, Program for Alternative Fluorocarbon Toxicity Testing; PFAS, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances.
