Fig. 3. — xenoAMPs-poly(I:C) complexes activate inflammation and coagulation processes. Bronchial epithelial cells (BEAS-2B, n = 4, A), primary Human Aortic Endothelial Cells (HAoEC, n = 4, B) and human umbilical vein cells (EA.hy926, n = 6, C and D) are treated with xenoAMP-poly(I:C), poly(I:C) or the associated controls. The released cytokines (IL-6 and IL-8) in the supernatant are quantified to evaluate the immune activation. The tissue factor (TF) activity is measured by a two-stage Factor Xa activity assay.
