Effects of cytokines on steady-state CD14 mRNA levels in cultured rat hepatocytes. Hepatocyte isolation and Northern blot analysis were carried out as described in Materials and Methods. Rat primary hepatocytes were incubated with single or combined cytokines (500 U/ml) for 12 h. The levels of CD14 mRNA were normalized to 18S rRNA and expressed as the fold increase over the control.
