Relative binding of STb to various lipids and glycolipids. Lipids tested (1 μg/μl in methanol) were immobilized on a PVDF membrane at 1 μg/spot, and the binding of STb (0.1 μg/ml) was measured after 10 min as described in Materials and Methods. Values represent averages of at least duplicate experiments (three spots per experiment) analyzed by densitometry. STb binding to sulfatide was taken as 100%, and relative binding to other lipids was calculated as a percentage as follows: (mean densitometric value of lipid × 100)/(mean densitometric value of sulfatide).
