The ER forms large sheet structures at onset of mitosis. 3D reconstruction of Z-stacks of confocal images of a four-cell embryo, with one cell in interphase and another one at onset of mitosis. The Z-stacks were collected around the nucleus in order to have an internal control for large ER continuums. The pictures on the right side represent one focal plane of the aligned group. The distance between two focal planes was 0.34 μm, and a stack comprised 12 images.
