Reactions were conducted with 6 or 7 (0.2 mmol), potassium formate (2.0 mmol), 4-nitrophthalonitrile (0.01 mmol) in DMSO (2 mL) under nitrogen atmosphere at room temperature with 390 nm LED irradiation for 72 h. Reaction mixtures were acidified before isolation. All yields were calculated after isolation.
