Purified recombinant mouse SP-D was used as a positive control. Rabbit anti-mouse SP-D antibody detected high-molecular-mass aggregates of SP-D in normal but not SP-D knockout mice (A) and an SP-D monomer (∼43 kDa) and a larger protein (∼62 kDa) in cultured human corneal epithelial cells (B).
