(A and B) In two separate studies (n = 60 in each), subjects were inoculated with SP204(1-1) in the nose and mouth and then treated with oral azithromycin on days 5 to 9 (A and B). These studies differed with respect to the sampling schedule, as shown. (C) A third study was done to assess the time until spontaneous eradication of SP204(1-1) in 30 subjects who did not receive the antibiotic. No positive cultures were detected after day 28.
