The NKC influences the TH1/TH2 polarization in response to malaria. Spleen cells from P. berghei ANKA-infected C57BL/6, BALB/c, and BALB.B6-Cmv1r mice were stimulated for 3 days with P. berghei ANKA total lysate or anti-CD3 antibody. Cells cultured in medium alone were used as background controls. IFN-γ and IL-4 production was determined in cell culture supernatant by capture ELISA. The experiment is representative of three separate infections. Each point represents the mean of three samples ± the standard error. *, P < 0.01.
