The adherence of wild-type EPEC strain E2348/69 was consistently reduced by 10%, but the difference between the normal serum-treated strain and the immune serum-treated strain was not statistically significant as assessed by paired t tests following the conversion of proportions by the arcsine square root transformation. The binding of the plasmid-cured strain JPN15 was dramatically reduced (P < 0.001) following anti-His-Int₂₈₆ treatment compared to the same strain treated with normal serum.
