---|---|---|
Cross (Male × Female) | Observed | Expectedb |
pnt1/PNT1 × pnt1/PNT1 (selfed) | 2.7% Top half silique | 12.5% Top half silique |
2.6% Bottom half silique | 12.5% Bottom half silique | |
5.3% Total pnt1/pnt1 (n = 1132) | 25% Total pnt1/pnt1 | |
pnt1/PNT1 × PNT1/PNT1 | 7% pnt1/PNT1 (n = 100) | 50% pnt1/PNT1 |
PNT1/PNT1 × pnt1/PNT1 | 46.3% pnt1/PNT1 (n = 108) | 50% pnt1/PNT1 |
For the pnt1/PNT1 × pnt1/PNT1 cross, F1 progeny were scored directly by counting mutant embryos in the upper and lower halves of the silique. For pnt1/PNT1 × PNT1/PNT1 and PNT1/PNT1 × pnt1/PNT1 crosses, the genotype of F1 plants was ascertained by scoring the segregation of F2 mutant embryos in the siliques of selfed F1 plants.
Expected segregation for a recessive nuclear gene with normal transmission.
