Loss of the bceF gene from B. multivorans P0213-1 impairs the mucoid phenotype because of cepacian biosynthesis. Confirmation of the deletion of bcsB (A) and bceF (B) genes from the P0213-1 strain genome after plasmid curing, as shown by the electrophoretic separation of the amplified PCR products. In the absence of the bcsB gene, an amplicon of 223 bp is expected while in the absence of the bceF gene, the size is 222 bp.
