rBCG PspA-PdT/PspA-PdT reduces cytokines in the lungs of pneumococcal-infected mice. Neonate mice were vaccinated with WT-BCG or rBCG PspA-PdT or rPspA-PdT. After 7 days, mice received a booster dose with the rPspA-PdT. Nine days after the booster dose, the mice were exposed to the WU2 pneumococcal strain via the intranasal route. Three days after the challenge, cytokine levels were quantified in the supernatant of BALF via mouse Th1/Th2/Th17 cytometric bead array (CBA).
