The complex and bidirectional relationship between oxidative stress and gut microbiota. The gut microbiota exerts influence on oxidative stress through regulating the production of metabolite and antioxidant enzymes. On the other hand, oxidative stress has an impact on the gut microbiota by promoting dysbiosis. Maintaining a balanced gut microbiota through a healthy diet, regular exercise, and other lifestyle factors can help mitigate the harmful effects of excessive ROS on gut health.
