An authorized user and radiation safety officer are also required, and several different types of specialists can fulfill these roles. At large centers, members of a multidisciplinary team may include multiple specialists to consult on complex cases. At smaller centers, the team may only consist of the referring oncologist, the oncology nurse, the nuclear medicine unit coordinator, the authorization specialist, and the scheduler. The radiology group can also suggest referral for RLT in scan reports. Telemedicine allows for specialists from large centers to consult at smaller centers.
