The bars depict the frequency of deviations from a perfect color constant match in Euclidian distances in CIE L*a*b* color space. Multiple selections and the two repeats (see Table A2) were averaged before calculating ∆E. The total number of matches was therefore 66. The trough in the distribution at small values is expected due to the discrete nature of the Munsell chip system.
