Synthesis of HCMV DNA in the presence of BDCRB and ganciclovir (GCV). MRC-5 cell monolayers were infected with HCMV strain AD169 at an MOI of 1.5. The infection was allowed to proceed in the presence of BDCRB (1.5 μM) or GCV (5 μM). At different times postinfection, cell monolayers were washed and collected for viral DNA quantification in a dot blot format with ³²P-radiolabelled HCMV-specific probes.
