Each nectar source was first resolved to the plant family and then grouped to the most fitting plant type: legume, grass, ornamental, trees, agricultural crop, vine, or wetland plant. Significance was determined using χ² goodness-of-fit tests, which indicated differences between communities and regions (P < 0.0001, both comparisons). We did not perform statistical analysis between species due to small sample sizes (<15) with the exception of Aedes vexans.
