Other coat protein mutations that suppressed the defective phenotype.
The EOP values were determined under restrictive conditions of the parental mutant.
The W30Y mutant was rescued by an intragenic suppressor Q35R, an extragenic suppressor in the external scaffolding protein T111I, and a mutation in the gene E (T74M), which encodes the lysis protein. Y31M mutation was also suppressed by a substitution in the external scaffolding protein V3F.
