The incorporation of [32P]UMP was determined by Cerenkov counting of the radioactivity in reaction products in the gel and was corrected for the various numbers of UMP residues present in the negative-sense reaction product.
Compared to that of the 28-nt fragment. Results are averages for two experiments, except for the G+20 and tetra templates, which are averages for four experiments. Errors are about 5%.
