Transcript levels obtained from GTEx were analytically clustered for all the genes in the 7q11.23 WS/Dup7 locus as a heatmap according to relative expression. Enriched expression in multiple CNS regions is seen for CAP-Gly domain containing linker protein (CLIP1), Lim domain kinase 1 (LIMK1), frizzled class receptor 9 (FZD9), Syntaxin1A (STX1A), and vacuolar protein sorting 37 homolog D (VPS37D). Notably, in spinal cord (red star), STX1A was relatively not well expressed, though potential localization to a small subpopulation of spinal neurons cannot be ruled out. The aorta (blue star) strongly expresses elastin (ELN). Hierarchical clustering and heatmap visualizations were performed in R, clustered according to the ward.D2 method (70), and visualized with the heatmap.2 function.
