Box and whisker distribution plots of number of detention officer healthcare duties by category of weekly nursing coverage hours in 254 jails in four US southeastern states, October 2020–May 2021*. *Median and interquartile values are labelled; for the Nursing Coverage Category 121–168 h, the 25%tile and median are both 1.0. Based on Wilcoxon Rank Sum Scores, all pairwise comparisons between the four categories of weekly nursing coverage hours were statistically significant (p < .05) except for the ≤ 40 vs. 41–80 h (p = 0.091).
