Operationalization of Exploratory NASA Survey Measures

Employer has done enough to create a welcoming environment for LGBTQ persons “My employer has done enough to create an environment where LGBT people feel comfortable being open if they want to be about their sexual orientation and gender identity” (1=strongly disagree to 5=strongly agree)
Positive Climate for LGBT Employees Averaged value of the following measures: “Some professionals in my workplace seem condescending toward colleagues who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (reverse coded);” “This organization values differences in sexual orientation; “I would not hesitate to recommend this organization to a friend who identifies as LGBT who was seeking employment.” (1=strongly disagree to 5=strongly agree) Alpha= .793.
Positively Acknowledge LGBT Status “How frequently do your colleagues acknowledge your sexual identity or gender expression in a positive way, such as asking about your spouse, partner or dating” (1=never to 5=frequently)
