^apTRLacZ DNA was packaged by using the extracts indicated. The products of the reaction were then treated with chloroform and heated at 55°C for 30 min. The yield of infectious units per 30-μl reaction mixture was determined by infection and expression of the transgene in 293 cells by using X-Gal staining as described in Materials and Methods.
