Promoter utilization in wt- and Cts23-infected BSC40 cells. BSC40 cells were infected with wt or Cts23 virus at an MOI of 15 and incubated at 31 or 40°C. Total RNA was extracted from infected cells at various times postinfection, indicated in hours above the lanes. RNA was hybridized to uniformly labeled antisense riboprobes specific for the 5′ end of an early (E), intermediate (I), or late (L) gene.
